If you made the decision that TECFIDERA is right for your patient, specify "Dispense as Written"

  • Download the latest Start Form
  • Indicate “Dispense as Written” or “DAW” in the prescriber section if you want to ensure a generic is not auto-substituted for brand-name TECFIDERA without your authorization
  • Verbally confirm “Dispense as Written” if the pharmacy calls your office to inquire about substituting a generic for TECFIDERA

Once you have prescribed TECFIDERA, there are routine steps for starting and continuing your patients on therapy1

One standard blood draw
to start
Complete blood count (CBC) with lymphocyte count
Liver tests

(serum aminotransferase, alkaline phosphatase, and total bilirubin)

Same standard blood draw
to continue
CBC with lymphocyte count
at 6 months, every 6 to 12 months
thereafter, and as clinically indicated
Repeat liver tests as
clinically indicated
