We can provide assistance once your patients are prescribed TECFIDERA. Biogen Support Services provides financial and insurance assistance options and other resources to help your patients get started on TECFIDERA.

Biogen Case Managers

Biogen Case Managers are here to help your patients start and continue on TECFIDERA. A Biogen Case Manager will reach out to your patient after they are prescribed TECFIDERA. Support is also available in Spanish.

Biogen Case Managers will also:

  • Educate your patients on financial assistance options available for TECFIDERA
  • Provide patient status updates to your office to help you stay up-to-date with their TECFIDERA treatment
Biogen Nurse Educators

Biogen Nurse Educators are registered nurses. Many are MS-certified and are here for your patients who are prescribed TECFIDERA. Biogen Nurse Educators are available to: 

  • Help your patients understand what to expect during treatment with TECFIDERA
  • Give information that may help manage common side effects of TECFIDERA
  • Provide education about available resources for TECFIDERA patients

A Biogen Nurse Educator can come to your office and educate your staff on how they can help support your patients taking TECFIDERA. Biogen Nurse Educators can also provide patients with supplemental side-effect mitigation strategies and communicate with you about your patients’ start date and any treatment challenges they have expressed.

Financial & Insurance Assistance

When treatment cost may be a concern for your patients, Biogen is here to help them start and continue on TECFIDERA. We will work with your patients based on their individual needs. Biogen Support Services offers different financial and insurance resources to help manage the cost of TECFIDERA, including:

  • Collaboration with insurance companies to clarify and confirm coverage, including assistance with the Prior Authorization process and denied claims
  • Insurance counseling that educates uninsured and underinsured patients on government insurance programs
  • Financial assistance options, including:
    • The Biogen Copay Program, which may lower TECFIDERA cost to as little as $0 for eligible patients with commercial insurance*

*Effective January 1, 2021, there is an annual cap on the amount of assistance that patients can receive over a one year period. Depending on income or, in some cases, if medication is obtained from an out-of-network provider, there may be an annual cap that limits the amount of assistance that patients can receive over a one-year period. Federal and state laws and other factors may prevent or otherwise restrict eligibility. People covered by Medicare, Medicaid, the VA/DoD, or any other federal plans are not eligible to enroll. Patients may be eligible to enroll in the Biogen Copay Program for as long as it is offered and as long as they are treated with a Biogen relapsing MS medication. 
The Biogen Copay Program is no longer available to patients in California and Massachusetts due to state laws.
